In the world before central heating, every room had its own fire. Today, this sounds positively medieval, yet we manage our home entertainment exactly in the same way.
To listen to music in the kitchen, we plug in a hi-fi or radio… in the kitchen. To watch a DVD in the living room, we rely on the system in the living room. To wake up to our favourite morning show, we need another radio in the bedroom. And for music on the patio, we drag yet another system outside, or open the nearest window. Crazy isn’t it? |
